Today, time is probably the greatest commodity…in many cases more valuable than money. If you think about it…there’s always a way to make more money if you’re willing to do whatever it takes. Once the time is up… you can’t get it back. There’s no way to make it longer or stretch it to be longer. The only thing anyone can do is manage it and maximize it. Based on that, why would anyone want to waste it?

Sounds like a strange question, doesn’t it? At this point, you’re probably thinking to yourself…”nobody wants to waste time” and I agree with you. How come so many people do it? Every day!!! Time is wasted in many ways… but the most important seems to be based on work versus family life. Did you know that arduous morning commutes eat up up to 1-2 hours a day in general… and much more for many.

That can add up to 3 weeks per year when added together! Take a 40 year career and that’s 120 weeks or more than 2 years of wasted time!!! 2 YEARS!!! What would you do to save this time? Nothing? Most people would probably say yes to that. There is a way to keep more than you think today. Dozens of Americans are leaving the corporate sector to work from home or have their own home business. This allows them to win back some of those lost 2 years ago.

If you choose to simply work from home, that is, have a job but do it from home; there are good and bad things to consider…

Here’s the good… A steady paycheck… if that’s what’s important to you. Ability to plan your life around your job to some degree. No upfront investment…you will always be an employee. .

Here’s the bad part… Respond to a boss for your schedule. Need boss approval to move forward. Someone else still decides the value of your time and effort. No residual income accumulation.

Certainly, if you choose to move out of the employee sector and into the home business owner sector, there are all sorts of advantages available to you. Again though; with the good also comes the not so good.

Here’s what a home business can offer…

The good… You’re the boss. Run your business your way, not someone else’s. You create your own schedule and decide how much and when you work. You answer to yourself, not a boss. You decide the value of your time and effort versus a boss. Potential accumulation of residual income if you choose the right business.

The bad (or the challenges)… There is investment and working capital necessary for any legitimate business. There is no immediate gratification. You need to build your business and your momentum before you reap the rewards.

With all of that being said, the good far outweighs the bad. There are definitely ways to plan ahead so that starting your business doesn’t break the bank. Keep your job and start it part-time or just save the necessary capital and then make the switch.

Let’s talk about the good for a moment… imagine having the time to travel whenever you want? What if you never miss your child’s sports competition again? Or be available to attend all school events and never miss a birthday party? What about your personal time…do you remember? What would it be like to have a bit of your time more than once a year!?

Whatever your choice; be content with your decision to take the necessary steps to discover the fantastic potential and flexibility of working from home. Having a job or a business is up to you but; imagine the impact your new found freedom of time will really have on your family life? Let’s face it; time is limited and if the opportunity exists to maximize yours, why not seize it?
