Tiny Short "Stories (Part 2)

1. The famous archaeologist “South Carolina Smith” and Lucy, his companion, traveled to a remote village in southern India, which seemed far from civilization. Inegun, the chief of the tribe considered Smith and his wife as honored guests and invited them to share a special meal with them, as the emaciated and hungry villagers looked on. Smith and Lucy sat together in Inegun’s humble tent. As they talked, an exotic lean meal was prepared for Smith and Lucy only, consisting of Python snakeskin and pig intestines. After Lucy asked what it was, she put the plate down. Smith chided her, saying, “You have to eat this. That’s more food than most of this tribe eats every week. Show some respect.”

Inegun replied, “If you don’t like that food, there’s a nice Pizza Hut down the road.”

2. Two 14-year-old girls were walking down an old road in a small town in Wyoming. They saw an old, square telephone booth that had been standing for five decades. “What is this?” said one of the girls. At the same time, an older gentleman heard them and told them that it was an old cylindrical phone booth from before 1990. The girls looked at each other with puzzled looks. One asked the other, “I wonder why anyone would want to bring their iPhone here to talk.” The other said, “I guess it was used so someone could talk on their iphone privately.”

3. A wealthy old man and his mischievous young wife arrived at a bank to open a joint account, which included all of the man’s assets and had been his account only. His cruel wife had no wealth but relied on the joint account if she needed money. Unfortunately, when the husband was about to sign his name to confirm the account, he started having a heart attack. His wife ignored the man’s situation and pushed the paper into his hands so he could sign her name and the money was hers. Instead, the old man simply smiled at his wife and said in her weakened state, “No money for you. Get a job!” Then he died. The woman tried to revive him and said, “Don’t die on me, you’re sobbing Sign it!” But it was too late. She should throw away the poisonous soup she had prepared for him.
